Govenmental Agencies

The design aims at dispersing a variety of agencies throughout Australia to receive input and suggestions from the general public.

I have chosen to focus my project on two issues and agencies which I feel will play a huge role presently throughout Australia and even more so in the future.

Firstly, with a growing population and an increase in lifestyle disease there will be even more of a strain on the public health system - the idea is to create a 'Health Hub' that can provide education, formative feedback to politicians and health services to the community.

Here is the outline of what may be required in the Health Hub

And secondly, the growing stress on the environment and its affects on the natural biodiversity of the planet is a concerning issue to many Australians - This space known as the 'Environment Hub' will provide integral education,  formative feedback to politicians and an area for exemplary sustainable living displays.

The age of the new NOMADISM......

Curiosity : Movement : Exploration

Politicians are more nomadic now then ever, social inquisitive, sharing ideas over vast distances is actualised now by explorations.

My idea is to provide a podium of such that will either follow, appear or enhance a politicians travels. Providing shelter from the natural elements and community among its inhabitants (the PUBLIC & the POLITICIANS)

"A mobile portable structure herald in the dawn of the
age of new nomadism"

The applications are limitless, buildings have no borders, material, palette, design, style and transportation method are diverse intelligently inhabiting a specific environment, specific time place  reacting to social shifts throughout Australia.

"Autonomy of Containers - It merely Accommodates it own shape & size to those of the inhabitant as far a necessary"

Distributing Throughout Canberra

Through initially working as a group we have chosen to design structures that can all be used as a collective to achieve one of three things:
  • Make Politicians more accountable through the built environment
  • Enhance Canberra as more of a meeting place and overall a more desirable place to visit through better infrastructure and planning
  • Creating a vessel for the nomadic politician
Above is the existing Canberra Plan and below is the plan with the architectural and infrastructural insertions.

All of the groups Structures would feed into the Canberra plan, some fixed like the Grand Central Station, others movable there one day and gone the next. Some inspiration shown below.

tangible InfraSTRUCTURE

ROAD NETWORKS

I really like the overlapping layers, shadows and the light in these image. The concrete structures look so effortlessly intertwined.
It is interesting to think about whom is going to access these layers, where do these layers end up, and by what means are they accessed?

RAIL NETWORKS

Some of the rail systems around the world I have been lucky enough to have had the experience to travel on. The London Tube, Paris Metro and the New York Metro.
Overall the London Tube system was the most efficient interacting and connecting with the bus system for more resourceful travel around the urban environment.
